In today’s economic climate and with significant changes in the way that federal grants are being reviewed and funded, it is very important to be able to write grants that have a high likelihood of being funded upon initial submission. Having a good idea is only the core – being able to present that idea to the review committee in the format requested relies on good grant writing skills. The first portion of this workshop will review the grant submission process then go through some of the key steps required to write successful grants.
Requests for Proposals (RFPs) are equally important in terms of how well they are written. An RFP is a document issued by an entity (e.g., radiology department) when it needs to purchase something (e.g., equipment, a service). Desired equipment specifications and service requirements are detailed in a public document to which providers respond. The goal is to receive multiple bids with competitive prices so you can obtain what you need at the best price. Poorly written RFPs can elicit no or inappropriate bids resulting in lost time. The second portion of the workshop will detail key steps for successful RFP Development.
The workshop will have ample time built in to allow for questions, discussion and interaction between faculty and attendees. |
