An Easy Solution to Convert Workstation Independently DICOM Files into Other Standard Image Formats, Including a How-To Tutorial

Background:
Some situations require the possibility to quickly convert existing DICOM files into other image formats. A DICOM converter is often not available, and installation of a DICOM converter, especially, is often not permitted on workstations with limited user rights. An easy solution is desired to quickly convert DICOM files while overcoming these hurdles.
 
Evaluation:
This online program allows DICOM files to be uploaded easily, converting them into standard image formats (such as JPG, PNG, TIF, etc.). Online access makes it available from any workstation – even with limited user rights. No installation is necessary. An additional step-by-step tutorial explains the process of converting DICOM files, performing editorial manipulations to enhance the images and exporting the files into the desired format.
 
Discussion:
This online program allows conversion DICOM files into standard image formats and overcomes the problems of restrictions on workstations with limited user rights and access. A how-to tutorial also explains how to optimally perform this converting process.
 
Conclusion:
We provide an easy to use DICOM converter that can be used from any workstation – independent of user-right restrictions. A how-to tutorial also accompanies this presentation.
